The story of the GROOVY family goes back to 2015. Shortly after we returned from the CBC, we came to the decision that we needed to make kettle sours along with our existing barrel aged sour beers. Within a few months, we had nailed down exactly what had hoped for, and released the first six-pack sour in the state, our Infectious Groove.
Shortly thereafter we started playing around with fruited versions of our Infectious Groove, with fruits such as, Prickly Pear, Black Currant, Cranberry, Elderberry, Mango, Passionfruit, Pomegranate, Grape, Blood Orange, Watermelon, and Grapefruit.
As you can probably tell, we're very passionate about making these fruited kettle sours, and in the most recent months we've started to think about how we can get these out to more people and so we decided to make the push to cans.
For the first time ever, in August 2019, we were able to release our first canned fruited sour, and decided that we'd like to chronicle that list as time goes on with more and more varieties to see cans in the future. See below for the varieties that we've been able to put out into cans.
Our Groovy Smoothie was the first fruited sour ale that we we're ever able to can. It's also one that we're extremely proud of. The Groovy Smoothie is a Smoothie style sour, which basically means that it's a Kettle Sour with Vanilla and Lactose, and a fruit, which in this case was Black Currants.
Now, I could go on and on about how we've enjoyed this beer, and how good it is, but I'd rather that you see for yourselves what people have been saying.
